Terms of Service

Clipars — random 1v1 video chat & mini-games · Version 1.0 · Last updated: [[LAST UPDATED]]

1.Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and the operator of the Clipars service described in Section 2 ("Clipars", "we", "us") governing your access to and use of the Clipars website and services at [[WEBSITE URL]] and related applications (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms, the Community Guidelines and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2.Who we are

The Service is operated by [[OPERATOR — your name or the “Clipars” project]], an independent project based in [[COUNTRY]]. You can contact us at [[SUPPORT EMAIL]].

3.Eligibility — adults only (18+)

The Service is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, if higher). By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the Service, and we may suspend or permanently ban any account we reasonably believe belongs to a minor.

6.Community Guidelines and prohibited conduct

Our Community Guidelines form part of these Terms. In short, you must not:

7.Recording and privacy of conversations

We do not record, store or monitor video or audio calls. Video and audio travel directly between the two participants (peer-to-peer). You must not record or rebroadcast the other person without their consent, and you must not screenshot or share their images or messages without consent.

Be aware that other users may nevertheless attempt to record or screenshot — you accept this risk when you use a live video service. Do not show anything on camera you would not want others to see or keep. Report any user who records or shares your content without consent.

8.Your content

9.Moderation and enforcement

10.Intellectual property

The Service, including the "Clipars" name, logo, interface, games and code, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Service, or use our branding without our written permission. If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, contact us at [[SUPPORT EMAIL]].

11.Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties — for example, hosting and databases (Supabase), site hosting (Vercel), sign-in and maps/Street View (Google), and code libraries (CDNs). Their services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or for websites you reach through links or content shared by other users.

12.Availability and changes to the Service

The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. It may be interrupted, restricted, or changed — including for maintenance, capacity, safety or legal reasons. We are not liable for interruptions or for the unavailability of other users.

13.Ending your use

14.Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that matches will be available, or that users will behave lawfully or respectfully. You interact with strangers at your own risk. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

15.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, reputation or opportunities, arising from your use of the Service or interactions with other users. Our total liability for all claims related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) [[EUR 50]]. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

16.Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator of the Service (Section 2) from claims, damages, and reasonable expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of others' rights.

17.Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [[COUNTRY]], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before starting formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at [[SUPPORT EMAIL]] so we can try to resolve the dispute informally. Courts of [[COUNTRY]] have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you other rights.

18.Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new "last updated" date, and — for material changes — provide a prominent notice in the Service. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
