Clipars, Answered — The Complete FAQ

Everything people ask about Clipars, in plain language — one answer per question, no fluff. Deeper versions of each topic live on the pages linked throughout.

The basics

What is Clipars?

Clipars is a free online 1-on-1 random video chat. You sign in, press Start, and meet another real person face to face in your browser — no download. It includes two in-call games (Draw & Guess and "Where Are We?"), friend requests and messaging, gender and country filters, and one-tap Report and Block in every call.

Is Clipars free?

Yes. Matching, filters, friend requests, messaging and both in-call games are free. There is no paywall on meeting people.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Clipars runs entirely in your browser. A camera and microphone are the only equipment.

Do I need an account to use Clipars? Why?

Yes — starting a video chat requires a free account (Google sign-in or an email code, about twenty seconds). This check is what keeps bots and ban-evaders out, so the person you meet is a real account holder.

What do I need to get started?

A modern browser, a camera and a microphone, a free account, and being 18 or older. That is the whole list.

Matching

How does matching work on Clipars?

You choose who you would like to meet (any gender, women, men or couples) and optionally a country, press Start Video Chat, and the platform connects you with a real person. Press Next anytime to be matched with someone new. The full walkthrough is on the random video chat page.

Can I choose who I meet?

Yes — pick who you would like to meet (any gender, women, men, couples) and filter by country across the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, Japan, Korea, Canada, Australia and more.

What happens when I press Next?

The current call ends and you are matched with a new person. There is no limit and no penalty — Next is part of how random chat works.

Games & features

What are the in-call games?

Two games: Draw & Guess, where one of you draws a word and the other guesses, and "Where Are We?", a 1v1 map duel where the closest pin to a secret location wins the round. Both play inside the video call — no download for either side. See video chat games for details and more game ideas.

Can I add someone I met as a friend?

Yes. Send a friend request during or after a call; when it is accepted you can message each other and find each other again. You only keep in touch if you both agree.

Can I play games without an app?

Every Clipars game runs inside the call, in the browser — nothing to install. Beyond the two built-ins you can play any classic over a video call: 20 Questions, Would You Rather, Two Truths and a Lie and more.

Safety & privacy

Is Clipars safe?

It is built for it: 18+ only, real accounts instead of anonymous matching, one-tap Report and Block, human moderation of reports, and peer-to-peer video that Clipars never records. Your side: keep private information private, and skip or report anything that feels off. Read the full safety page.

Are calls recorded?

No. Video and audio connect directly between the two callers (peer-to-peer) and are not recorded or stored by Clipars. The other person can still capture their own screen, so never do anything on camera you would not want saved.

How do I report or block someone?

Tap Report on the call screen (also next to messages and on profiles). Your written description goes to the moderators — calls are not recorded, so describe what happened in your own words. Block keeps someone out of your calls and messages.

Housekeeping

Who can use Clipars, and where is it available?

Adults (18+) worldwide. The service language is English, and Clipars works in the browser on any device with a camera and a modern browser. One account per person.

Is Clipars the same as Omegle?

No. Omegle shut down in November 2023. Clipars is an independent, modern take on random video chat — real accounts, moderation and peer-to-peer privacy instead of anonymity at any cost. See the Omegle alternative page for the full comparison.

Still curious? The Omegle alternative page compares platforms, safety covers moderation, and games explains the built-ins — or just try Clipars and see.
Enough reading. Open Clipars, press Start Video Chat, and your first match is seconds away. Free, no download, 18+.
